Is Racisms alive and well at COSTCO in Surprise, Arizona
I am a Black American U.S. Military Veteran who has experience what may be deemed as racism at the COSTCO in Surprise, Arizona. On or about September 21, 2021 around 9:30am. I approached the HP computer laptop display where the person that appeared to be the HP representative look past me and greeted people who appeared to be white with a very nice morning greeting. At first, I though nothing of it and chalked it up in my mind as perhaps he knew the folks behind me, and just shrug it off.
However, when I returned to the HP computer laptop display for a second time, the same person was opening the HP stock draw under the HP computer display which confirmed he was associated with HP, once again ignored me the who time (about two to five minutes) I was looking at the HP laptops with a very obvious interest. The HP representative did not say anything to me and continued to ignore me.
I then gave up and preceded to leave the HP computer laptop display, and while leaving two elderly people who appeared to be white was greeted by the HP representative and asked them was there anything that eh could help them with?
This leaded to my question to COSTCO and HP, is racisms alive and well in your company, and is your policy to treat people other than white with this type of service?
